Inara George

The Bird and the Bee- I'm a Broken Heart
I do not remember how I found Inara George of the band The Bird & The Bee. I think it was a recommendation from Amazon. Anyway, every since I discovered both The Bird & The Bee and her solo album(entitled All Rise), I've become obsessed with her retro, fit nostalgic music around really sad and/or naughty topics style of music... Then, one day I saw her picture. Her style matches her music perfectly. I love the patterns on her dresses, her blunt hair cut, and the vampy eye make that still makes her look so sweet.

Here's a remix of my favorite Bird and the Bee song with Peaches.

Too Trashy to Pass Up

I saw these shoes featured on a post by Geri of "Because I'm addicted" and I've been obsessed with them since. Due to monetary constraints I had to wait a whole week to purchase them. I thought I was going to die. They are so stripper, which Geri mentions in this post and that makes them that much cooler. I am distinctly reminded of Agathe formerly of Stylebytes and her stripper heels. I just had to have them!

You can't get me out of the house for nothin'

I'm a typically hermetic individual and I have been especially so for the last eight months. That in combination with my disenchantment with shopping malls and the diaspora of kitchy shops around Denver has lead to my online shopping addiction. This month has been no exception. I am an exclusive online shopper and my particular interest is ebay. Here are a few of my purchases. The mask is a consequence of a post on my other blog about a now ancient photo from face hunter (it's the first picture of this post). The seller turns out to be a pretty kinky distributor which only made me want to buy it more. Hopefully, I'll find the courage to wear it to a random evening event sometime. The tan ruched boots are so bad, they're good. I can't wait to see how I can transform a borderline ugly pair of boots into something worth seeing. Also, another online purchase will be featured in another post as I think it warrants it's own place in the blogosphere.

The seller's respectively are:
Vancouver Wholesale, Make me Chic, and Amiclubwear.

Purple

Al Green-Let's Stay Together
Purple is my favorite color. I just think that any shade is flattering on anybody. Today is definitely a purple day. I feel too good not to celebrate with the color of royalty. I am also going out with some friends that I haven't seen in forever and we're going to Falling Rock Taphouse downtown. It's a bar that has something around 200 beers on tap. That is a lot of beer. By the way, this photo was not meant to turn out the way it did, but I kept it because the silhouette looked so incredibly cool!

Museum of Outdoor Arts

David Byrne-Strange Overtones
Yesterday was one of those amazingly temperate days that only happen in Colorado. It was beautiful enough to put anyone in a good mood. The day completely got away from me what with moving a couch and socializing, so these pictures were taken in haste at the Museum of Outdoor Arts except for the first photo of me sitting in the new couch in the bed of the truck.

Feeling the Strain

Brett Dennen-Make You Crazy
I am currently trying to find a student teaching position and the subsequent rejections are becoming increasingly stressful. Therefore, I predict that the next couple of week's outfits will be entirely uninspired (much like this one) due to my near break-down status. Rest assured, things will return to normal in the very near future, though, and I'll be all hopped up on the prospect of new clothes.
