Whoops!

So, I've been a bit out of touch with the blogging world the past couple of days, mostly because I've been wrapped up in my little teacher microcosm. That is why I missed that Fashion Therapist had nominated me for this lovely award, which I am all to happy to pass on. One of the most miraculous things about blogging is the connectivity you experience with fellow bloggers. That would also be one of the stranger things about blogging because you "meet" people from all around the globe. The strangeness and the connectivity are what makes it so fun!

The Rules:
1. Put the logo on your blog or post.
2. Nominate at least 10 blogs which you think are fabulous.
3. Be sure to link to your nominees within your post.
4. Let them know that they have received this award by commenting on their blog.
5. Share the love and link to this post and to the person from whom you received your award.

Super Hero "Boots"

I just received these from Urban Outfitters the other day and I never expected how awesome they would actually be. I feel half Wonderwoman, half "Lady of the Night" and I'm digging it.

Dark Chocolate

I opted for an outfit with monumental dramatic flair... just for fun. I will enjoy this outfit with some dark chocolate with chili in it. I hope it's good. I was feeling experimental yesterday at the grocery store, so I decided to give it a try.
By the way, I was wearing this outfit with a pair of thigh high black-seamed hose that are brilliantly sexy, but omigod are they a pain in the ass. I have a garter to keep them up, but all that happens is that the hose fall down and the garter just goes with it. Does anybody know a place where I could buy a pair of these hose in full length, not just thigh highs? I want some so badly, it's killing me!

Elvira

This outfit felt so Elvira. Hence, the bizarre photos of me petting my fur and biting my necklace. Morbity is always in style when you're Elvira. This vampy outfit reminds me of my early blogging days. It's probably just because of the cumberbund, but it's still an odd feeling of deja vu to return to my old style for a day.
Today was a stellar day. I had an amazing day of teaching and I will be building and teaching my own unit for Animal Farm next week, which I'm really enthused about. Actually, I'm probably overly enthusiastic about it and can not focus my unit.

So Much to Say

Today's post is heavy on the text and light on the photos.
I am so ready for spring that even a minor dip in temperature, like today, sends my running to the sweater section of my closet. I layered up big time and still spent most of the day freezing.
This evening, after school, I met up with a friend of mine and her daughter. We went to a pizza place called Via Baci, which I think is a chain restaurant, but I'm not sure because I am so out of touch with the outside world. Ironically, whenever I am reminded of my obliviousness, I realize that being out of touch with the real world is the most blissful way to live.

This was the beauty that I confronted before heading to work this morning.

Nothing Special

Nothing supremely special today, I just really wanted to wear these new boots that I got from Anthropologie. I do have to say that I love this tee, though this is my first time wearing it. Threadless is my go-to spot for fabulously funny tees.

M.I.A.'s disaster?

I am sure that the media along with certain corners of the blogosphere ripped M.I.A's Grammy performance outfit apart. I by no means find it a flattering piece, but, man, this girl can make a statement. I love her boldness in putting her pregnant belly and breasts right out there. She flouts conventional award attire and exudes the essence of a woman who is completely comfortable in her skin. Although the outfit is no illustrious beauty, her garment choice and the reasons behind it are what fashion is all about.
