Surprise-- Not So Much

Chictopia has sent me yet another jem. The headpiece in this photo was actually an accident. It is a necklace that got stuck on Digital Love's head and gave her the idea of a necklace as a headpiece. I am eager to try this concept out and am quite sure that it might transpire within the next couple of days.

Twin Peaks

Twin Peaks, despite it's twisted plot line, is my fashion inspiration for this week. Yummy! I love how sophisticated the clothing and people are despite its outlandish premise. Juxtaposition is always fashionable!

Pride

No outfit photo today as my sister and I were corraled into attending Denver's Pridefest by a friend of hers. We only stayed for an hour and then we went for pizza at the awesomest hole-in-the-wall establishment in Denver. Finally, we ended up sampling tea (my favorite beverage besides wine and beer) at a swanky tea shop. All in all a good day despite the impromptu quality of it.

Full Summer Mode

The absence is on account of the fact that I couldn't muster the strength to get out of my shorts and flip flops the last couple of days. Today, I couldn't wait to get into some fancy clothes and doll it up a little.
The earrings are a garage sale purchase from today. I found all kinds of jewelry and a pair of glasses that need the prescription lenses popped out.
Also, check out my tumblr account. I'm thinking I may go in a slightly different direction with the tumblr account, but we'll see how things pan out.

Pinnacle

I accepted a job offer today to teach seventh grade language arts. I think my summer just officially hit its peak. Nothing could feel better than the culmination of the last four years of my life.

Dark Knight

The beading on this cardigan was really stunning, so I scooped it up at the charity shop. I had envisioned it with a pair of sloppily cut-off levi shorts and flat motorcycle boots, but seeing as I don't have either, I modified.

I took this photo of chictopian, Jos, and attempted to model my hair in the same manner. Clearly, my hair is not nearly as put-together as hers, but I think I got the jist.

We are Powerful Despite Our Injuries

I was really not excited for the inevitable tan that I would get with managing an outdoor pool. Now, looking at pictures, I think I have achieved just the right glow. I just have to keep it from getting too much darker because then I'll look like crispy-fried chicken.
I love this sweater, which coincidentally, is two sizes too big for me. I feel that it needs modification, though. Slashing, perhaps? I'm totally a wimp about diy and I'm really afraid of taking scissors to my precious four dollar sweater.

Love is No Big Deal-- It's Falling You Fear

This outfit just magically fell together today. The only vision I had was to wear the dress (as it is nearly 90 degrees outside today) and then each piece of the ensemble, including the hair, just tumbled into place flawlessly. I like the 80's career girl feel of it.

zeBRA

I think I have become completely consumed with nakedness as fashion. I could not bring myself to truly venture outdoors in a bra and plunging blazer, but it felt liberating and sexy to give it a go. I feel powerful, playful, bold, and empowered all at the same time. It seems that this need to skinny up on the clothing is here to stay.

Migraine

Today I got my first migraine, which began with a crescent-shaped squiggly line in my vision and continued on with a lightning bolt slicing through my face from the right side of my forehead to my left ear lobe.
Anyway, after that episode, I was in desperate need of some TLC. I got dressed up and took myself shopping. I didn't last too long and didn't find much, but it did make me feel better.
I decided to layer my "invisible" pieces, which was a way of using this petticoat in a different manner. I felt a little naked, but what is fashion without the risk.

Not Sure

I saw this top at Savers and thought that it was a little bit trashy and a little bit ugly. I had to have it instantly. Now, the problem becomes... what do I do with it? This is the first go-round with the shirt and I hope to improve my results from this first debut.
