Keen on Boys

This outfit incorporates some of my favorite pieces right now. I'm obsessed with these shoes, though they are much more the "sit-down-and-look-pretty" shoes than they are the "walk-about" shoes.
I'm currently obsessed with the book I'm reading. If you want sexual intrigue, historical fiction, and misguided romanticism, then read The Bolter. It's the story of Idina Sackville, the temptress/lovelorn British goddess who inspired the Happy Valley Set (ever-so-scandalous) of Kenya. It's the best nonfiction read, I've ever read. Read it!

We're going to party, karamu, fiesta forever

This is the outfit that I was planning to wear to dinner and a movie with some friends. However, I think I'm going to change into something a bit more comfortable.
I spent the week in Keystone, Colorado at an International Baccaleureate (I probably spelled that wrong) conference. I'm still recovering and feeling super antisocial since I stayed in a house with 16 of my colleagues. I'm too much of a homebody for that much socialization.
That's probably the reason I want to feel as comfortable as possible.
Don't forget about the contest. It ends on Monday July, 5.

Oh, I also just finished The Girl with the Dragon tattoo and I'm pretty impressed. My next book is called The Magicians and I'm dying to get started.

This is Why I Love Colorado

The leaves are beginning to turn here in Colorado so I took the opportunity to go for a walk with my mom and the dog and take some pictures. As I was snapping photos, I realized how much this reminds me of the Brambly Hedge children's book series by Jill Barklem. These were my favorite books when I was a kid because the images are so beautiful and I had all of the season series. I decided to theme my photos in light of the Brambly Hedge series so I have interwoven photos from the walk today with photos of the Autumn Story book.
These are hops (like for brewing beer). Since my dad is a homebrewer, my mom and I spent the afternoon picking them for him to brew. In fact, he used them today to brew a cream ale!
