The winner is

Thank you to all of you who submitted entries for the jewelry contest! I had a great time perusing your finds and I was almost tempted by more than a few items (though, thankfully, I didn't buy anything).
Again, hop on over to Pronoia Studio and check out her jewelry. Her items are wonderfully light and refreshingly unique.

Jewelry Contest

Alright!
Finally, I am getting to this awesome contest with jewelry that I have recently become obsessed with. Amy over at Pronoia Studio asked me if she could send me a necklace and if I would be willing to do a contest. After browsing her etsy shop, I emphatically said yes!
Ok, so here's the deal:
I would like you all to send me an e-mail building an outfit around this necklace.

But the catch is that you have to build the outfit using only items from etsy (shoes excepted, as they are a little harder to find on etsy. I know. I've looked). Please be sure to credit the shops you use, so that I can do the same when I post the winner. Also, make sure to include your e-mail address so I can contact you. If I do not have your e-mail, I won't be able to name you a winner no matter how much I love your outfit. The contest will end on July 5th and I will announce the winner by no latter than the 10th of July. If you win, you will win the necklace above.
Now, go be creative and have fun!

Also, here is a little information about Amy and her shop:
Each and every Pronoia Studio piece is made entirely from hand without the aid of forms or molds. The nature of this sort of creation means that each piece is unique and special.

This necklace features a kiln-glazed ceramic pendant on a sterling silver plated (sterling silver) chain. The pendant is very durable and can endure warm/cool temperatures and water/cleaning.

Chain measures: 18 in

Chain can be resized larger/small upon request at no additional cost. Just add this information as a note upon purchase, or contact me ahead of time.

Pronoia Studio does ship internationally. Right now, the “fixed” cost of international shipping is $15 USD. However, international customers will be refunded any shipping expense that is not needed for shipping.

Kiki de Montparnasse/Shopbop Giveaway

A another giveaway? This time it's Kiki de Montparnasse, a designer I'm rapidly falling for.

Good news: 1) I have one $100 Shopbop.com gift card, ready to send to the person who leaves the best comment below. 2) This giveaway is all about underwear! Just let me know which piece of Kiki de Montparnasse lingerie from Shopbop.com is your favorite and why. Best comment wins, so get creative! You have 10 days to enter.

Feast your eyes on these yummies!

What is Kiki de Montparnasse?

Kiki de Montparnasse is a line of lingerie with famous boutiques in New York and Los Angeles. But, don't call it a high-end sex shop. According to the owners, it's a "luxury lifestyle store surrounding romance and intimacy."

kiki de montparnasse

So who is Kiki?

She's not the designer. Kiki de Montparnasse (the label) was actually started by Jennifer Zuccarini and her partner Andrew Pollard. After realizing that the fashion industry was using sex to sell everything, except for actual sex products themselves, they decided to get to work. Pollard named the brand after Kiki de Montparnasse (the person)--a famous French model and artist from the '20s who was known for her free-spirited yet sophisticated ways.

Which Kiki de Montparnasse item is your favorite?

Let me know! It's time to release your inner Kiki and leave a comment. Just tell me which piece you'd choose and how you'd wear it. One lucky winner will receive a $100 instant Shopbop.com gift card goods towards anything in the store. Remember, best response wins, so have fun!

More Randomness

I broke down and purchased these Prada heels yesterday. It was the Art Deco feel. I couldn't control myself. They had to be mine!
Plus, they were over 50% off at yoox. If you are a 7 and a half, go out and get them immediately! Only one left.

Also, I was logging into Forever 21 to track my latest purchase from Faith 21 and I was greeted with this banner:

I immediately pooled all my Faith 21 outfits and found the one I thought was the best (though I think I picked it mostly because of the photography and not necessarily the merits of the outfit). Anyway, I hate to increase my competition, but I wanted to let all my ladies know about the contest. Have fun!
This was the photograph I settled on.

And the Winner is...

I know it's been a while, but do you remember the contest I ran about three weeks ago? Well, it ended on Tuesday and I chose a winner. xokeizz at a tr!be called keizz created this very creative and beautiful ensemble shown below.
xokeizz please e-mail me (my e-mail is in my profile) so we can move forward and get you your scarf! If you can't find my e-mail, just comment in one of my posts and I will get it to you.
Thanks everyone for participating.

I also wanted to add that one of the contestants, Emily, included a pair of shoes that, in and of themselves, almost took the contest!
These Tibi shoes make me want to salivate and die for them, and they left me wonder how I can manage for the $420 that they cost.

The Contest that I Want to Win

So, it is time for another contest, people! Your mission this time it to build me an outfit around this outrageously funky scarf. You can pull pieces from any website, go the high-low route, whatever suits you. Just make you sure e-mail the file to me. I would appreciate if you would create your own lovely image, but you can also just send me links and I will compile an image.
There is a bit more with this contest. Once, I have announced the winner, she (or he) must either become friends with the founder of Chic Downtown (sponsoring website) or follow her on Twitter.
This contest is available to my international readers as well (yay!) and ends on the 29th of July.
Good luck and have fun with it!

We Have a Winner

So, the ring contest closed last Sunday, but in the madness that is my life right now, I had to wait until now to announce the winner.
Amy Johnson over at Femme Hinterland (a blog about being a queer woman in the South) has won the banner contest. I loved the banner instantly, as she seemed to really get the essence of who I am as both a lover of fashion and also just as a person.

I would also highly encourage anyone who is into handmade goods to check out her etsy shop (Artful Arts Amy). Congrats Amy and thanks again to Chic Downtown for the lovely ring.
I would also like mention that Chic Downtown is having a giveaway going on at their blog right now to win a size 8, beautiful Tibi mini dress.
I highly encourage anyone who is a size 8 to go for it! Here's a picture to encourage you.

Contest!

I was thrilled when Alyssa at Chic Downtown contacted me about giving away an item for one of my loyal readers. One of you lucky readers will receive this amazing ring (that I personally want for myself) and here's how you get it:

I need a new image for my blog banner. The only stipulation that I have is that it include the blog name (that being Big Girl Clothes Horse). Otherwise, you may use your own graphics, choose a photo from my blog, or whatever other resources you have at your disposal. I am hoping that the creative genius in you all will come out full force. Please e-mail your entries to me and I will choose a winner on the 12th of April. Good luck and have fun!
