Lady of the Night

The Pipettes-Your Kisses are Wasted on Me
I accompanied my grandmother on a trip to visit my uncle on Vancouver Island this past summer. On our way home, we missed our connecting flight from Seattle to Denver and had to spend the night in a hotel and take an early morning flight. We got up around 3am and, as we were waiting for our shuttle, we saw four or five women walking into the hotel. They were dressed like they had just left a club and I was a bit confused because the bars close at 2am in Seattle and it was already 3:30am. My grandmother just looked at me and said "I think that they are ladies of the night." I wasn't sure what she meant, but I'm guessing it's the euphemistic way of referring to prostitutes. When I came home and told my mom, she promptly laughed for an half an hour. I thought of that story today when I put on these boots (probably because they are a bit Pretty Woman-esque) and I couldn't help but chuckle.
Lady of the Night or not, these boots make me feel good. I walk differently in them. I feel sexy, tough, and mysterious. They are definitely destined to become a permanent fixture in my wardrobe.
